Ruth Ann Lapka

Ruth Ann Lapka, 71, of Caseville passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at Scheurer Long Term Care in Pigeon.

Ruthie was born March 2, 1951 in Pigeon to the late Thomas and Dorothy (Naffien) Dufty. She grew up in Bay Port and started working at Walt’s Restaurant in Caseville for her uncle Walter Naffien and mother Dorothy who were the owners. In 1986 she became owner of Walt’s Restaurant, retiring in 2012 and turning the restaurant over to her daughter Carrie. She enjoyed NASCAR and visiting with her customers who became like family to her. She was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary.

Ruthie is survived by her daughter Carrie (Darin) Sprague of Caseville and Brenda (Dave) Anczewski of Caseville; grandchildren Andrew (Sally) Peters, Jeremy (Brandi) Sprague, and Brandon (Ciara) Sprague; great-granddaughters Kiley and Kennedy; brothers Jim Dufty of Arizona, Ken Dufty of Caseville and Brian Dufty of Caseville. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Langley and sister Barbara Guster.

At her request, no services will be held. Memorials in her memory may be made to the Caseville Chamber of Commerce to support events in Caseville. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
