Ruth Miller

Ruth Elaine Miller, age 80, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at her home, following a lingering illness. Ruth was born October 7, 1927 in Lexington, Michigan, the daughter of the late Fred & Matilda (McLane) Dingman. She graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1944 and Central Michigan University with a degree in elementary education in 1948. She was united in marriage with Gerald Miller on August 6, 1955. Ruth was an elementary teacher for over thirty-one years, teaching in Battle Creek, Lansing, Cass City, Mt. Pleasant and Caro, retiring in 1989. She was an active member in the Caro Community of Christ, the N.E.A.-R, M.E.A.-R, the Tuscola County M.A.R.S.P. group, the Caro Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Wixom Club. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of over 52 years, Gerald Miller of Caro; three children and their spouses, Jeanie & Dan Bills of Caro, Nan & Doug Ewald of Laingsburg, Beth & Doug Willis of Port Austin; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Julian and Jordan Bills, all of Caro, Gordy and Ellie Ewald of Laingsburg, Chad (Amy) Willis living in Florida, Ashley Willis of Port Austin; two great-grandchildren, Logan Lawrie of Caro, Luke Willis living in Florida; two nephews and one niece. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Campbell.
