Ruth Topham

Ruth G. Topham, age 91, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Caro Community Hospital, following a brief illness. Ruth was born September 26, 1917 in Juniata Township, the daughter of the late Frank L. & Grace Phoebe (Spencer) Taylor. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1936, and was united in marriage with William A. Topham on April 6, 1940 in Vassar. William preceded Ruth in death on February 10, 1985. Ruth was employed at the Caro Regional Center for twelve years, retiring in 1980. She worked for many years on the Juniata Township Election Board, and was a member of the Watrousville United Methodist Church and its Womens Society. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, shopping and gardening. Ruth is survived by four children and their spouses, Linda & Richard Childs of Caro, Richard & Nancy Topham of Caro, Mark & Sue Topham of Grayling and Janelle & Mark Buchinger of Grayling; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duane & Shirley Streeter of Vassar and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Lee, Frank and Fred Taylor; and two sisters, Mildred Stone and Myrtle Grainger.
