Ruth Ann Venema of Caro, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. She was born November 10, 1933 in Caro, the daughter of the late Stanley and Dorothy (Cutts) Graubner. She was united in marriage with Hessel D. Venema on May 26, 1956 in Caro, and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2005. Ruth Ann was a homemaker and had been employed at the MSU Extension Office in Caro. She was a member of the Caro First Baptist Church. Ruth Ann is survived by five children and their spouses, Stuart & Brenda Venema of Cass City, Maryke & Dale Weidman of Cass City, Stanley & Cindy Venema of Deford, Martin & Lisa Venema of Deford, Robert & Angie Venema of Valdosta, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother and his wife, Howard & Ann Graubner; and one sister, Miriam Kellogg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dirk, on April 26, 1977; one granddaughter, Maureen Venema; and one brother, Robert Graubner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Caro First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Wigand officiating. Burial will follow at Novesta Township Cemetery in Cass City.
