Ruthanne Elicker, 80, of Bad Axe, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Ruthanne was born January 6, 1940 in South Gate, California to the late Carl Edward and Betty (Beard) Stephenson. She raised her family in Colorado Springs and eventually settled in Huron County in 2016 to be near her family. Before dementia robbed her of her vitality, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, belly-dancing, spending time with her family, and being a social activist. She was a volunteer master gardener with the Colorado State Forest Service.
She is survived by her children Chief Warrant Officer (ret.) Christopher (Pamela) Elicker of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cathleen (Joseph) Stinson of Pinnebog, Penelope Elicker-Flynn of Bad Axe and Corinne Elicker of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren William (Stacy), Senior Airman Shane USAF, Amanda (Jake), and Henry; great-granddaughter Lorane; sisters Diana (Cliff) Wieger and Audrey Dazey. She was preceded in death by her husband Master Sergeant James Elicker (ret.) in 2011.
Private services will be held at a later date. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
