Ryan Z. Shemka age 19, of Colfax Twp. and Texas died unexpectedly, Thursday evening, March 28, in Elkton.
He was born January 19, 1994, in Bay City to Dennis and Terri (Morneau) Shemka.
Ryan grew up in the Elkton area and attended Laker Junior High until moving to Columbus, Texas in 2008. There he attended Columbus ISD, graduating in 2012. Shortly after graduating, he returned to Huron County.
Ryan was a past member of St Columbkille Catholic Church, the Elkton Cub Scouts, Columbus FFA and was a cross country runner.
Surviving are his parents, Terri Shemka of Columbus, TX and Dennis Shemka of Bad Axe, MI; his brother, Evan; grandparents, Ray and Alicia Morneau of Columbus, TX and LaVerne and Mary Shemka of Port Hope; aunts and uncles, Dale & Pam Graves of TX, Bonnie Ziel of Kinde, Nancy & Brian Finkel of Sterling Heights, Ken & Kim Shemka of Verona, Sharon & Steve Zurek of Harbor Beach, Linda & Dave Volmering of Ruth, Steve & Kathy Shemka of Owendale, Barb & Gary Carpenter of Kinde, Duane & Liz Shemka of Verona, Charlene & Gerard Kubacki
of Ruth and Pauline & Eric Voelker of Pigeon, also 33 first cousins and many more family members.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 12:00 Noon Monday, April 1, at St Columbkille Catholic Church. Fr. Joseph Griffin, will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9PM Sunday March 31st, as well as 9 to 11 AM Monday, April 1st at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Prosession to follow the service at St. Columbkille Catholic Church.
