Sadie Chambers

Sadie B. Chambers, age 88 years, of Atwood St., Caro, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born March 9, 1917, in Fairgrove Township. On April 13, 1935, the former Sadie Bell Hetherington was united in marriage to Leonard Randall in Caro. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1989. She then married Carlton Chambers on May 2, 1992 in Midland, with him preceding her in death on January 30, 2002. .In her early years Sadie worked in the sugar beet fields and drove tractor; and in later life she was a paper hanger, decorating many residences as well as working at Thumb Laundry and Clark Canning Company. She enjoyed winters in Florida for many years and was a member of the Kedron Chapter #33 Order of the Eastern Star. Sadie knitted, gardened, hunted, enjoyed snowmobiles and bowling. She is survived by three daughters, Lena Teller of Cass City, Leona (Robert) Koppleberger of Ithaca and Donna (Doug) Rieck of Caro; eleven grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Raymond (Rachel) Hetherington of Bay City, William (Bernadine) Hetherington of Auburn and Arzola Mularz of Auburn; three step-daughters, and spouses, Karen McGill of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Carol (Colin) Grady of Holland and Sue (Larry) McCoon of Freeland; a step-daughter-in-law, Judi Chambers of Caro; ten step-grand-children; and many step-great- and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her spouses, she was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Lena Hetherington; and siblings, Leslie, Morris, Robert, Kenneth, James, Leonard, Dennis and Lulu Hetherington. The funeral service will be held: at: Collon Funeral Home in Caro on: Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. with: Pastor Chuck Emmett, Novesta Church of Christ, Officiating Burial will be: at: Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw on: Pastor James Conn, Ithaca Church of God, Officiating Visitation will be: at: Collon Funeral Home in Caro on: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and: Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the family discretionary fund, c/o Leona Koppleberger.
