Sally Louise Heidt, age 86, of Unionville, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City after a lengthy illness, from complications due to surgery.
Sally was born December 1, 1929 in Sebewaing at the home of her late Grandparents, Walter & Julia (Graves) Wineman. She was the only child of Edward Allen & Alice May (Wineman) Rosborough. She was raised by her loving mother at the home of her grandparents and attended Sebewaing School's K-12 graduating in 1947. In high school she was on the decorating committee, glee club, and loved art. She also worked at the Blue Line Dairy, Claeubesch Drugstore, and the Lincoln Theatre. After high school she took a correspondence art course.
She met the love of her life in 1946 in Sebewaing through mutual friends, and for the past 70 years they have never faltered in their devotion. She married Robert Charles Heidt on November 12, 1949 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage in Unionville. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Sally was a dedicated wife and devoted mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She enjoyed baking and will be remembered especially for her famous banana cake. She was also very artistic. She loved drawing, singing and playing her piano in the comfort of her home.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; children: Lynette (Bill) Eremia of Unionville, Bob (Brook) Heidt and Son-in-Law Jeff Horst all of Sebewaing; Grandchildren: Bill (Eric Pflum) Eremia of Chicago, April (Josh) Gremel of Unionville, Jamie Horst, Chris (Amanda) Horst all of Sebewaing, Steven Heidt of Bay City, and Allison Heidt of Clio; Great-Grandchildren: Anna & Jacob Gremel, Ethan & Olivia Pflum-Eremia, and Ralphie, Mason & Bella Horst; Special Aunt: Florence Jarvis; Special cousin: Maureen Rasmussen; Half-Sister: Virginia Bell
She was preceded in death by her loving mother Alice; her beloved daughter Connie Horst; Special Uncles: Walter Jarvis and Ralph Wineman and her half-brother Edward "Eddie" Rosborough.
Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 13, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Columbia Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to family discretionary fund or donor's choice.
