Sally Ann Mowry

Sally Ann Mowry of Fairgrove, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Bay County Medical Care Facility in Essexville. Sally was born August 31, 1933 in Akron, the daughter of the late Leslie and Alyce (Hovey) Bosley, and graduated from Unionville High School with the class of 1951. Later that same year, she was united in marriage with Donald Mowry before his deployment with the U.S. Army. Donald preceded her in death on September 1, 2015. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker and farmer, as well as a teacher's aide with the Tuscola County Intermediate School District for over ten years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, and painting on canvas. As a child, Sally dreamed of being a nurse, and even though her life took a different path, she used those interests to care for her family and countless animals. She was active in equine husbandry and training, and was constantly tolerant of any stray animal brought home by her children. Sally was an active member of the Wisner United Methodist Church where she sang with the church choir and as a soloist. Sally is survived by four children and their spouses, Jol Mowry of Saline, Kelly Graham of Florida, Brent & Denise Mowry of Unionville, Brooke & Cathie Mowry of New Hampshire; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Diane Hahn of Unionville; sister-in-law, Bernice Mowry of Fairgrove; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by three sisters, Jannet Turner, Barbara Pachy, and Sue Eager. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the Wisner United Methodist Church with Rev. Evan Oh officiating. A luncheon will follow the service with burial to take place later in the day at the Wisner Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Wisner United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
