Sally Joyce Sakon

Sally Joyce Sakon, age 91, of Unionville, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at her home on hospice care.

Sally was born February 17, 1933 in Pinconning to Frank and Bertha (Dylan) Romanik. She married Richard Gene Sakon in May 1973. She worked 25 years as a machine operator at Sebewaing Industries, many years for Bay Port Fish Company and a few later years for Lamplighter restaurant, retiring at the age of 88. She loved cooking, baking, garage sales, boating, decorating for all the holidays, canning, gardening, making pierogis, taking car rides, and cussing. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren.

Sally is survived by her children: Kim Harder, Kris (Cheryl) Sakon, Kelly (Joseph) Wise and Joshua Sakon; grandchildren: Becky (Earl) McKee, Jamie (Mike Tkacz) Harder, Sam (Ryan) Anker, Chuck (Jill) Harder, Julie Sakon, Sandi Wise and; great grandchildren: Alexa (Carson) Beach, Ayden Torres, Brianna McKee, Kylie McKee, Aiden Sprague, Gunner Goss and Madisyn Evans; sister, Betty (Rudy) Tyce; and many nieces and nephews.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Arthur (Virginia), Wallace (Shirley) and Francis (Jane); son, Scott Harder. Grandson, Stephen Weidman; daughter-in-law, Paula Harder

Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 1pm-7pm.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2025 at Our Lady Consolata Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. The burial will take place privately at the church cemetery in Unionville. A luncheon will follow.

Memorial donations may be given to Our Lady Consolata.
