Sandra Carpenter

Sandra Carpenter of Caro, age 82, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at McLaren – Caro Region with her loving family by her side. Sandra was born in Caro on March 22, 1942, the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Pollock) Storm. She was united in marriage to Edwin R. Carpenter on December 30, 1983 at the Caro United Methodist Church. The couple cherished nearly thirty-four years of marriage, creating a lifetime of memories before Edwin’s passing in 2017. Sandra loved time spent outdoors on a warm day, especially at the beach or by the water in Tawas, where she spent many happy days. She loved the warmth of the sun and the peace it brought her. In her spare time, Sandra found joy in canning with family and friends, flower shopping, and savoring a quiet afternoon with a good cup of coffee or a relaxing nap. Above all, Sandra’s greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and treasured every moment spent with them. Her love and devotion to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Sandra’s memory are three children, Lance & Lourdes Romain, Dawn Cloutier, and Shane Romain; grandchildren, Ashley Cloutier, Robert (Priscilla) Cloutier, Amanda (Patrick) Kelly, Nicole (Dominic) Hennig, Logen (Rachel) Romain, Megan (Richard) Romain, Makaela Cloutier, and Nikolas (Jennie) Cloutier; great-grandchildren, Rylie Cloutier, Ava Kelly, Rowan Kelly, Alvin Kelly, Bria Kelly, Ember Cloutier, Norah Cloutier, and Olivia Cloutier; a brother and his wife, Frank & Karen Storm; and sister-in-law, Evie Storm. In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Storm.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Sandra’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Special Olympics or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
