Sandra Nelson

Sandra Kay Nelson, age 57 years, of Caro, passed away on December 6, 2008 at Bay Regional Medical Center. The former Sandra K. Webster was born on October 12, 1951 to Joseph and Alice (Brown) Webster who were Mayville residents. Sandra attended Mayville schools and graduated from Caro High School. She married Richard Bowles and he preceded her in death in 1998. Sandra then married Neal Nelson on September 17, 2005 in Vassar. In addition to being a homemaker, Sandra was involved in many outside endeavors, including running their family business and for the last seven years as a Dietary Aide at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She loved her family and as a grandmother she taught her grandkids the true meaning of being a kid; laughing, loving and playing. In addition, she enjoyed snowmobiling, yard work and giving rides to everyone on her garden tractor and the wagon. She is survived by her husband, Neal; one daughter, Shawndel (Scott) Tomlinson of Caro; four grandchildren, Bryan, Cole, Marissa and Devin Tomlinson; her mother, Alice Webster; her siblings, Gary (Joyce) Webster of Fairgrove, Shelly (Mike) Robinson of Prescott and Kim (Lyle) Putnam of South Lyons; her step-children, Kevin Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona, Curtis Nelson of New Jersey, Mathew Nelson of Livonia and Stacie Nelson of Fenton; step-grandchildren, Maya, Ryan, Sara and Adam Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Bowles; her father Joseph Webster; and siblings, Pamela Harroun and Randy Webster. A funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Beverly LaJoie officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
