Sandra Kay Sears, 70, of Caseville, died Saturday October 8, 2016 at her home under hospice care.
Sandy was born March 31, 1946 in Detroit to the late Johannes and Johanna (Peters) Wensink. She graduated from Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores in 1964. She married Hanlon Gary Sears on June 5, 1965 in St. Clair Shores. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2015.
She lived in Hazel Park for 6 years before moving to Clawson to raise her family. She worked as a cook at Clawson Public Schools from 1978 to 1997. Having bought property in Caseville in 1985, she and her husband built a home there and moved permanently in 1997. She was an active member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping and quilting.
She is survived by her sons Ron (Sarah) of Madison Heights and Brian (Koreena) of North Hollywood, California; grandchildren Garrett and Kaylee; brother William (Janet) Wensink of Gladwin and sister Betty McKenney of Kingston. She was preceded in death by her sister Geraldine Kemp and brothers Jim and Ronny Wensink.
A memorial service will be at 1:00pm Thursday, October 13th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville with visitation from 11 to 1 Thursday. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
