Sara Sieland-Bucy, age 57 years, of Plain Road, Caro, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at St. Marys of Michigan. She was born on March 4, 1950 in Detroit to the late John J. and Alice (Kelly) Sieland. She graduated from high school in Birmingham and Oakland University for both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. The former Sara Sieland married Brian Bucy on May 20, 1978 in Birmingham. She was employed in secondary education early on and primary at the end of her career. She taught in adult education in the Detroit area and in later years at Millington as an art teacher and Title I instructor. She loved art and music and was a phenomenal artist and played for the pure joy of it. She belonged to Stagecrafters in Clawson, Thumb Center for the Arts, OU Alumni Association and was a member of the Ellington Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband, Brian Bucy, of Caro; two sisters, Mary Taivaloja of Alpena and Marilyn (David) Guthaus of Fenton; an aunt, Betty Sieland; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear Kelly aunts and her Sieland aunts and uncles. The memorial service will be held at the Ellington Church of the Nazarene on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Rick Harrell and Ron Comfort officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Sara Sieland-Bucy family discretionary fund.
