Sara J. Sprague

Sara J. Sprague, 76, of Bay Port, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.

Sara was born August 29, 1944 in Bay Port to the late John and Elizabeth (Lambert) Dutcher. She attended Bay Port Elementary and Pigeon High School. On February 23, 1961 she married Robert A. Sprague at the Bay Port Baptist Church.

She and her husband owned R&S Quick Stop in Bay Port. She bartended at Scenic Bar and the Bay Port Inn. She played pool on a league at the Bay Port Inn for many years. She always had a deck of cards handy and loved playing Euchre, playing dice games and Keno.

She is survived by her husband Robert A., children Darin (Carrie) of Caseville, Dina Wise of Bay Port, and Angela (John Himmel) Sprague of Caseville; grandchildren Jeni, Daniel, Shannon, TJ, Jeremy, Brandon, Shawn, Danielle and Jordan; great-grandchildren James, Samuel, Christian, Mila, Kiley, Kennedy, Kaycen and Ella; sister Jeannie Gunther. She was preceded in death by her daughters Keri Sanchez and Kim Schafer; sister June and brothers Robert, John and Jerry.

Visitation will be 1:00pm to 6:00pm Sunday, August 29th (her 77th Birthday) at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.
