Sarah Bennett

Sarah Etta Bennett, age 86 years, of Caro, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008 at her home. She was born on March 30, 1921 in Tuscola County to the late Charles and Sarah (Hendrick) Cutler. She was a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. The former Sarah Etta Cutler married Donald Greenfield and he preceded her in death in 1950. She then married Lee Bennett on March 21, 1979, and he also preceded her in death on October 28, 1997. Sarah was employed for a number of years at the Thumb Laundry and then went to work as a housekeeper at the Caro Regional Center until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting and her family activities, especially her grandchildren. Sarah was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. She is survived by three children, Eunice (Roy) Greenwood of Sebewaing, Mary Ann (Bob) Sutherland of Zephyrhills, Florida, Norma (Bill) Fader of Unionville; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Greenfield of Caro; four step-children, Karen Collard of Cass City, Fred Bennett of Caro; Susan (Timothy) Weihl of Caro, Karlene Bennett (Nick Zielinski) of Tucson, Arizona; several grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother Charles (Ruth) Cutler of Saginaw. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by one son, Don Greenfield; a step-daughter, Kay Bennett; three sisters, Nettie Riley, Alice Carpenter and Lula Hile. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope in Frankenmuth.
