Scott Gilbert

Scott Edward Gilbert, age 38 years, of Caro, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at his home. He was born on October 28, 1968 in Port Huron, and moved to Caro five years ago. On April 6, 2006 Scott was united in marriage with Catherine Swoffer in Lapeer. Scott was employed at General Purpose Vehicles in New Haven working as an assembly technician. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting and camping. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes. He was a close friend to many and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; a step-son, Christopher; a step-granddaughter, Breanna; his father, Benjamin Roy; his mother, Lillian Irene; his step-mother, Donna Jean; three brothers, William, Wayne and Gregory; two step-brothers, Clifford Jr. and Tracy Allen; two step-sisters, Theresa Marie and Violet Jean; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, step-nieces and nephews, grand-step-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Clifford; and a step-brother, Bryan. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Pat Robbins officiating. Following Scotts wishes, cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Scott Gilbert family discretionary fund, c/o Catherine Gilbert.
