Sharon Brown

Sharon Brown, age 40 years, of Mertz Road, Mayville, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. She was born on April 20, 1966 in Hamtramck, Michigan, to Art and Delores (Peczko) Kapa. The former Sharon Kapa married Michael S. Johnson on June 22, 1984 in Otter Lake. Following her marriage, she moved to Sebring, Florida where she resided for twenty-one years. After moving back to Michigan, she married Todd Brown on July 15, 2006 in Mayville. Sharon enjoyed cooking and looked forward to traveling someday. She was known for her humor and willingness to help others. Sharon had a passion for animals, and will be missed very much by her cat, Lucy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Todd Brown; her two daughters, Mandy and Chelsea Johnson of Sebring, Florida; her parents, Art and Judy Kapa of Mayville; her in-laws, Gordon and Bonnie Brown of Mayville; seven brothers and sisters, David and Cindy Kapa, Donald Kapa, Sandra Mozdzen and Paul, Carla McCrory and Kurt, Christine and Mike Cunningham, Gregory and Laura McCrory and Ronald and Kerry McCrory; a sister-in-law, Deana and Walt Simpson; her grandmothers-in-law, June Smith and Ilha Brown; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Ann Kapa. Funeral services will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Joseph Robbins officiating. Burial will be at Fremont Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sharon Brown family discretionary fund, c/o Todd Brown.
