Sharon E. Ellis

Sharon E. Ellis of Caro, formerly of Bad Axe, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Sharon was born October 10, 1939 to the late Edward & Violet (Etzler) McKulsky. She grew up in Bad Axe and graduated from high school there with the class of 1957. Sharon later attended school to become a licensed practical nurse and worked for several area hospitals before taking a position with Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe where she served for more than twenty years until her retirement in 1996. She was united in marriage with Howard "Jim" Ellis on June 27, 1959, and the couple cherished over fifty years of marriage before his death on February 20, 2010. Sharon will be remembered as a natural caregiver that wore her heart on her sleeve. She was happiest when able to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren. Sharon enjoyed hunting for treasures at garage sales, crafting, and traveling. In her earlier years, she was also a Girl Scout leader and camp nurse. Left to cherish Sharon's memory are four children and their spouses, Kelli Jo & Wayne Robinson of Houghton Lake, Jami Sue & Thomas DeVine of Caro, Terri Anne & Michael Fitzgerald of Port Huron, Steven James & Carmin Ellis of Kingston; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Edward & Dominique McKulsky of Fairfield, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by two siblings, William McKulsky and infant sister, Beverly McKulsky; granddaughter, Jessica Carl; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Grace Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Paul Rohling officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date at Colfax Cemetery in Bad Axe.
