Sharon E. Jaster of Caro, age 78, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Timberline Lodge in Caro. Sharon was born July 13, 1943 in Caro, the daughter of the late Cecil & Nelda (Thorp) Osgerby. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1961 and worked for a brief time at the Lapeer Regional Hospital as an aide. Sharon was united in marriage with Roy A. Jaster on May 12, 1962 in Caro, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1982. Sharon centered her life around her family, and she spent many years caring for her children at home when they were young. She later worked for Heritage Press, McComb Elementary as a playground attendant, and finally the Caro Pharmacy for over fifteen years as a sales associate until its closing in 1998. She was a member of St. Christopher Parish in Caro, the Caro Moose Lodge, and the Caro Jaycees. She was also a member of a bowling league for many years and enjoyed visiting casinos and the anticipation of a scratch-off lotto ticket. Camping trips with Sharon that turned into family reunions are a treasured memory for her children. Left to cherish her memory are five children and their spouses, Doreen Bell of Georgia, Roy, Jr. & Pamela Jaster of Caro, Diane & Darren Lopardo of Georgia, Bethany & Charles Kaake of Cass City, Brenda & Heath Peters of Caro; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren with two more expected shortly; four siblings and their spouses, Nancy Romain of Caro, Gale & Carol Osgerby, Timothy & Deborah Osgerby of Florida, Janice & Tim Haley of Vassar; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by one grandson, Travis Jaster; and two brothers, Gary and Clark Osgerby. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the family, c/o Bethany Kaake, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
