Sharon Rapson Buchholz

Sharon Rapson Buchholz died unexpectedly in her Elkton home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. She was born on January 14, 1942, in Bad Axe, Michigan, to the late Arthur and Ola (Rader) Rapson.

She made lifelong friendships during her early years, graduating in 1960 from Bad Axe High School. While attending Saginaw Business Institute, she added more chums to her life. Friendships also formed at various workplaces, including Hamill Manufacturing in Bad Axe and Team One/Credit Union One in Elkton. Her participation in civic projects, like those sponsored by Club 59 and Elkton Centennial fundraisers, also forged relationships.

Sharon loved exchanging stories, laughs, and smiles with treasured friends and family over a bite to eat, which on occasion, featured her delicious chocolate chip cookies.

Get-togethers were thoroughly enjoyed. One long-time tradition had the Rapson clan meeting at the annual Huron County Fair for horse races, Gibby’s Fries, and strolls through the fairground’s barns.

As a consummate caregiver, Sharon had an innate ability to know when someone needed comfort. She was a great listener, a wise adviser, a loyal friend, and found ways to help others be their best self.

Sharon married Ernest “Ernie” Buchholz, Jr. on September 9, 1961, sharing more than 63 years together until his death on July 23, 2025. She is survived by her loving and cherished daughter, Kami Buchholz, and her husband Edward Burnett; sister, Diane (Michael) Rapson Gabil; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Watterworth and Janet Bodis Rapson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

Sharon reunites in death with her beloved husband, Ernie; brother, Wayne Rapson; sister, Gail (Robert) Rapson Sturm; brothers-in-law, Ray (Elaine) Buchholz, Clarence (Inez) Buchholz; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Dale) Henne, Beatrice (Millard) Deering and Ruth Blome.

In accordance with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to celebrate her life in private but asks that you spend time sharing memories of Sharon with those you love.
