Sharon Kay Rohde

Sharon Kay Rohde of Mayville, age 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on the morning of Friday, July 21, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Sharon was born October 5, 1954 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Thomas and Joan (Malott) Schoen. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. While playing softball, Sharon happened to meet the love of her life, Joseph Rohde. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on August 8, 1981. Their marriage was blessed with almost forty-two years and countless memories. Sharon and Joseph continued to enjoy playing softball together and had the best time on their trips down to Corpus Christi, Texas. She was an amazing homemaker and the most wonderful cook; she could make anything, and you knew it’d be delicious. Sharon had a passion for shopping and always enjoyed having her nails done. She liked to play cards and loved hanging out with her furbaby, Sully. Above all else, being called “grandma” was Sharon’s favorite title, her grandchildren were the lights of her life. Her feisty, adventurous, caring, and loving soul will be missed beyond measure for many years to come.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Joseph; three sons, Joshua J. (Jillian) Rohde, Scott M. (Alecia) Rohde, and Greg T. (Trish) Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Dr. Jenna Luth, Hailey Hollingsworth, Jade Hollingsworth, James Hollingsworth, Nicholas (Mariah) Rohde, Isabel Rohde, Hawkins Rohde, Bearett Rohde, Kieran Shackleton, and Kiegan Shackleton; siblings, Sue Grunow, Tom (Rosie) Schoen, Mary (Gary) Seibert, Bill (Robin) Schoen, and Michele (Glenn) Donell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Deanna (Don) Curler, Al Rohde, Laurie (Chuck) Kaiser, Joan Nelson, Douglas (Kathleen) Rohde, Phil (Michelle) Rohde, and Michelle (Tom) Jackson; beloved lifelong friend, Barb Murphy; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Shields; and in-laws, Elwood and Erma (Corbat) Rohde.
