Sharon Loraine Schank of Caro, age 78, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Covenant Health Care – Cooper in Saginaw. Sharon was born August 26, 1945 in Marlette, the daughter of the late Arthur and Wilma (Hall) Titus. She graduated from North Branch High School with the class of 1963 and went on to attend Baker Business School in Flint. Sharon worked at Mayville Elevator, Yankees Department Store in Lapeer, and Kmart in Lapeer. She also sold Avon products and cleaned offices and private homes to make ends meet. On April 1, 1978, Sharon married the love of her life, Robert Schank. They shared thirty-nine blessed years together, raising two children and creating countless memories. Together, they opened Caro Bait and Tackle and crafted items for many craft shows, turning it into a family affair. Sadly, Robert passed away on April 21, 2017.
A lifelong member of the women’s auxiliary, Sharon managed the bingo eatery at the VFW and Dom Polski Hall for over fifteen years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, and, in her younger years, fishing and camping with her family. Sharon faithfully read her Daily Bible and loved watching Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones. She cherished time with her family and looked forward to gatherings, particularly the annual 4th of July BBQ. Each year, she eagerly awaited the arrival of the hummingbirds, hoping to spot the first one before her son Joe—and she usually did, or at least claimed she did. Sharon had a profound love for every family member and would do anything for them. She was their rock, always there to offer advice or simply lend a listening ear. Sharon’s warm smile and love will be missed.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory, her sons & their spouses, Richard & Jordan Schank of Cass City and Joseph & Ann Schank of Caro; grandchildren, Nicole Schank of Caro, Jennifer Schank of Caro, Ryan Marker, Dakota Schank of Cass City, Austin Schank of Cass City, Robert (Tami) Trea of Mayville, Jason (Laura) Trea of Tennessee, and Bryan (Hannah) Trea of Florida; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Madalynne, Lindsey, Rylee, Trenton, Aiden, Brant, Kadence, Tinsley, Lance, Bella, and Emma; special granddaughters, Amanda Jones & Amanda McCann; brother, Robert Titus; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Patty Titus; brother, Gilbert “Gibby” Titus; grandson, Tyler Joseph Schank; sisters-in-law, Judy Titus and Ruth Schank; and brother-in-law, Fred Schank.
