Sharon Kay Sella

Sharon Kay (Finn) Sella of Unionville, passed away peacefully at Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville. She was born May 17, 1944, in Bay City, to James and Mary (Wainwright) Finn, while Jim was serving in the Army in Italy during WWII. She graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School in 1962 and was the first Quanicassee Muskrat Queen.

Sharon married Dean Sella on April 11, 1964 at St. John's Catholic Church in Essexville. She was the proud mother of four children: Dawn (Joe) Sella-Graney of Vestal, NY, Randy Sella of Cedar Springs, Rick (Cindy Smith) Sella of Essexville and Lori (Steve) Sella-Armstrong of Ann Arbor; her nine grandchildren: Royce, Reid, Joyce Sella of Cedar Springs, Logan, Lucas, and Landon Sella of Essexville, Danielle, Shannon and Nathan Armstrong of Ann Arbor; also survived by two sisters: Margaret (Tom) Heckman of Grand Blanc and Kathleen Doyen of Essexville;  two brothers: Jim (Pat) Finn of Bay City and Fred (Kristin) Finn of Grand Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and will be missed by all.

Sharon was employed at Dow, Othersen Insurance, and Bay Pediatric Clinic. She also worked in the fields picking sweet corn and vegetables.

She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events, band concerts, and her "world famous" chocolate chip cookies were enjoyed by all. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, dancing (especially to Elvis' music), and playing cards. She bowled for many decades with her cherished girlfriends. She was a member of Our Lady Consolata (Holy Family) Parish in Sebewaing. She taught CCD classes for many years and was active in the Women's Circle, Bible Study and assisted with funeral lunches. She had many dear friends at church.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Marnie Sella of Cedar Springs.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-7pm. Masks must be worn.

The funeral service will be Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Masks must be worn.

Burial will be at the church cemetery in Unionville.
