Sharon Kay Spencer

Sharon Kay Spencer of Caro, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born March 18, 1947 in Fremont Township, the daughter of the late Carlton D. and June M. (Daniels) LaPratt and was a lifelong resident of Caro and a graduate of Caro High School. On July 10, 1965, Sharon was united in marriage with Richard Clyde Spencer in Caro. The couple celebrated forty-four years of marriage prior to Richard's death on July 4, 2009. Sharon was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also liked sewing, gardening, crafts and bird watching. Sharon is survived by three children and their spouses, Richard & Jenny Spencer of Cass City, Tom & Brenda Spencer of Cass City, Renee & Don Lesoski of Burton; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Dustin Spencer, Austin Spencer, Jason & Christina Spencer, Jessica & Matt Bartnik, Carly Lesoski & Corey Brown, Cody, Hannah and Brent Lesoski; three great-grandchildren, Phineas, Brenton and Emmett; one brother and spouse, Dave & Michelle LaPratt; sister-in-law, Glenna Spencer; a very special niece, Char Rowe, who lovingly helped care for her; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by one sister, Judy LaPratt; and many other beloved family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 with Chris Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
