Sharon Fay Wurst

Sharon Fay Wurst, 79, of Pigeon died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 with family beside her at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City.

Sharon was born in Manistique on September 1, 1939 to Naoma (Kelsey) and the late Vernon Laux.  She moved to the Detroit area as a child and graduated from East Detroit High School.  She worked multiple jobs while raising her two daughters as a single mother.  She married Duane Wurst January 1, 1987 in Las Vegas.  Together they made their home in Berne where she enjoyed making her yard a perfect place for watching birds.  She was an accomplished artist working with oil painting.

She is survived by her husband Duane; daughters Dawn (Christopher) Polidori of Alger and Cyndi Krzysik of Maryland; grandchildren Brandi and Jeff Steele; great grandchildren Maysn, Aubrey and Cameryn McAlister; mother Naoma Laux of New York; brother Wayne (Lorraine) Laux of New York; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 11:00am Friday October 12 ^th at the First United Methodist Church in Pigeon with Rev. Cindy Gibbs officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am Friday at the church.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
