Sharren Ann Hobson of Caro, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at her home. Sharren was born April 25, 1937 in West Branch, the daughter of the late Paul & Alma (White) Duke. She moved to the Fairgrove area as a child and graduated from Fairgrove High School with the class of 1955. That same year, she was united in marriage with Richard Lee Hobson, and the couple cherished nearly sixty-five years together before his death in 2019. Sharren worked for a brief time at General Cable in Cass City until leaving to raise her seven children. She returned to the workforce as the children aged, first as a clerk at JC Penny in Caro and later as a cook at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, retiring in 1995 after fifteen years of service. Sharren was a member of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro where she also taught catechism, and was also active with the Caro VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed time spent playing Euchre with her card club, visiting the casino, and playing Bingo. She also liked time spent at the family cabin and always had time for antiquing. More than anything, Sharren enjoyed being with her family, cooking for them, and attending any function she could. She always had something nice to say and was able to be straight-forward while still being kind. Naturally creative, Sharren decorated pumpkins at the Tuscola County Pumpkin Festival for several years, winning first place every time she participated. She also enjoyed bowling and tending to her flower garden and yard. Sharren is survived by six children and their spouses, Deborah & David Rundel of Caro, Kimberly & Carl McLellan of Pinconning, Brenda & Aaron Larkin of Caro, Shelly & Kris Ball of Caro, Richard II & Jaime Hobson of Kingston, Michael, Sr. & Melissa Hobson of Vassar; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Sharren was preceded in death by one son, Robert Hobson; grandson, Bradley; and brother, Gary Duke.
