Shelby D. Janke

Shelby D. Janke, age 72, of Bay City, formerly of Sebewaing, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012. Shelby was born August 23, 1939 in Pigeon to the late Henry and Lorraine (Smith) Danks. Shelby married Melvin J. Janke on May 9, 1964 at New Salem Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. She was a member of the Sebewaing American Legion Auxiliary, the Sebewaing Lions club, Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Mary Martha Guild. She enjoyed playing cards, needle point and reading.

Shelby is the beloved wife of Melvin J. Janke. Loving mother of David (Marilyn) Janke, Kevin Janke and the late Michael Janke. Proud grandmother of Lisa (Richard Nicholas) Bowen and Tom (Judy) Bednarczyk. Dearest great grandmother of Katelyn, Jessica, Aric, Emily, Hunter and great great grandmother of Tommy. Loving sister of Doug (Carol) Danks, Ruthann Mundy, Allen (Sue) Danks, Ida (Ed) Shephard, Bobby (Cindy) Danks, Carl (Darlene) Danks and the late Nina McAlpine, Betty Yeo and Richard Danks. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 2-9pm at Juengel - Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing.

The funeral will be Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation at the church will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
