Sherri Shonk

Sherri Shonk of North Branch, age 45, passed from this life into eternal reward on Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was born February 22, 1975 in Warren, the daughter of Pastor William Earl Elledge & Loretta Elledge. Sherri will be remembered for her love of her sweet Lord Jesus, whom she left this world praising. Sherris personality would light up a room, whether with her infectious laughter or her sassy overcoming attitude. Her sweet demeanor and welcoming hugs could make anyone feel at home. Sherri had a gift for photography, by which she blessed so many. She was a selfless mother who fed her children even when it meant she would eat nothing herself. Sherri loved spending time with her family, at church, at home, around a campfire. No occasion was right if she wasn't surrounded by those she loved. She found so much joy in her nieces and nephews, and oh how she loved all the babies in the family. During her last years, Sherri never once spent what energy and time she had left on selfish endeavors. She dedicated what strength she had to serving the Lord and loving those God had put in her life. Many times, she would be so sick that she could hardly stand, but she would find the strength to encourage and love those she held dear. Sherri was truly a marvel to see. Although her body was weak, she possessed a spirit that loved people without limitation. Sherri gave her life's strength when it seemed she had nothing left to give. She always found a way to give more of herself than seemed possible. She was truly the best of us. Sherri is survived by husband, Jon; daughters, Kaitlyn and Mackenzie; loving parents, Pastor William Earl Elledge & Loretta Elledge; siblings and their spouses, Jeff & Dorcas Elledge, John & Patty Elledge, Luke Williams and her beloved twin sister, Rhonda Williams. Due to the current pandemic and government restrictions, the family will have a small private service. Burial will take place in North Grove Cemetery, Mayville. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Detroit, Michigan.
