Sherry Pelica

Sherry Lynn Pelica, age 56, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Covenant-Cooper in Saginaw, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Sherry was born January 23, 1952 in Bay City, the daughter of Teddy Walter & Doris Marie (Dean) Pelica, and grew up in Akron. Following graduation from Akron High School in 1970, she went on to Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University to become a Respiratory Therapist for the next twenty-five years, the last twenty years with Covenant Health Care in Saginaw. Sherry attended the Caro United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the Methodist faith, as well as a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care. Sherry had many interests that included crafting with wood, working in her flower and herb gardens, traveling, cooking, reading, and in her younger years, was involved in many sports. Sherry is survived by her mother, Doris Marie Pelica of Caro; a daughter, Julie and her husband, Scott Loesel of Auburn; two grandchildren, Zachary & Erica Loesel; two sisters, one brother and their spouses, Kathy & Roy Jobson of Akron, Paul & Mary Pelica of Akron, Kimberly & Jerry Thorp of Caro; nieces and nephews, Melanie Ruppal, Christopher Ruppal, Tyler Jobson, Joseph Pelica, Abby Thorp and Riley Thorp; and a dear friend, Carolyn Rickwalt of Caro. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Teddy Walter Pelica, on May 16, 2007.
