Shirley Aleksink

Shirley (Perry) Aleksink of Caro, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born September 22, 1945 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Lionel & Edith (Brown) Perry. She grew up in Caro on her family's farm where she helped her father and also showed horses and cattle. Her love of horses continued for her entire life, and she remained active in the horse circuit even after her graduation from high school. On May 6, 1967, Shirley was united in marriage with Tony Aleksink, Jr. in Caro. She was a devoted wife and attentive mother that centered her life around family. Shirley enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending winters in Florida with Tony. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Anthony Aleksink, Jr. of Caro; three children and their spouses, Perry & Jennifer Aleksink of Caro, Chad & Rebecca Aleksink of Unionville, Erick Aleksink of Caro; five grandchildren and their spouses, Benjamin & Kayla Aleksink of Caro, Nathan & Becca Aleksink of Caro, Tyler Aleksink of Caro, Lizzy Aleksink of Unionville, Ethan Aleksink of Unionville; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Warner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Wahjamega Country Church in Caro with Pastor Bill Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow later in the day at the Ellington Township Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Wahjamega Country Church.
