Shirley Ellen Arnold

Shirley Ellen Arnold of Caro, age 94, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Charter Senior Living. Shirley was born on September 21, 1928 in Bay City, the daughter of the late John and Stella Irish. On October 18, 1947, Shirley married Albert Arnold. Together they shared over 72 years and countless memories, sadly, Albert preceded Shirley in death on October 31, 2019. Shirley and Albert loved to winter in Florida and spend time with friends. In her earlier years, Shirley was very active in the Watrousville United Methodist Church. She was a member of its Women's Society, helped with the church dinners, and taught Sunday School. Shirley was a wonderful quilter and loved to share her quilts with family and friends. Above all else, she loved being with her family. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory three sons and their spouses, Alan Arnold & Laurie Weidman of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Keith Arnold of Watrousville, Neil & Patty Arnold of Caro; two granddaughters, Courtney and Melanie Arnold (Kyle Smith); two grandsons, Joseph & Katie Hodge, Jacob & Kristi Hodge; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Grace & Daniel Hodge; one sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson and her husband, George McParlan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Beth & Leonard Russell. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the 1:30 p.m. service.
