Shirley A. Bolton

Shirley A. Bolton of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Caro, age 86, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. Shirley was born June 3, 1931 in Caro, the daughter of the late Will Clair & Julia (Starkey) Petiprin, and was a 1949 graduate of Caro High School. She was united in marriage with Richard C. Bolton on March 31, 1951 in Caro, and he preceded her in death on August 16, 1996. Shirley's life revolved around her family, and she will be remembered for her abiding devotion to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her home, bowling, and golfing. Shirley was blessed with three sons and three daughters-in-law that she cared deeply for, Bruce & Renae Bolton of Newton, North Carolina, James & Cathy Bolton of Cumming, Georgia, Tim & Lori Bolton of Saginaw; six grandchildren, Jaci, Jill, Tommy, Bruce, Jr. (BJ), Heather and Amanda; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Petiprin of Lake Wales, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by one brother, Duane Petiprin. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Cumming, Georgia and Sharon Lorincz for their care and compassion during Shirley's final days. In keeping with Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at the Almer Township Cemetery in Caro.
