Shirley Maxine Burton

Shirley Maxine Burton, age 77, of Davison, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Courtney Manor Nursing Home in Bad Axe.

Shirley was born May 6, 1934 in Montrose to the late George and Myrtle (Essex) Brown. She graduated from Carsonville High School in 1953. On October 5, 1962 she married Norman F. Burton in Davison. She retired from GM - A.C. in 1987 after 30 years of employment. She enjoyed baking pies and baking and decorating cakes.

She is survived by her husband Norman F.; daughter Rhonda (Brian) Denhoff of Caseville and son Norman E. (Laura) Burton of Ubly; grandchildren Cole, Kyle, Colin, Ashley (Zach), Brandi, Austin, and Jaelynn; and her sister Helen Hall of Lapeer.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Walter, Lowell, Harry, Goldie, Clara, Evelyn and Elva.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Burial will be in Richfield Union Cemetery near Davison.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
