Shirley Louise Forshee

Shirley Louise (Horr) Forshee of Fairgrove, 87, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at her home. She was born July 18, 1938, in Springfield, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Bryon and Edith (Stark) Horr. Shirley was united in marriage with Richard Forshee on February 25, 1956, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2017. Shirley’s calling was raising her big and loving family and teaching them God’s word, which she shared with everyone she knew. She was a member of Caro First Baptist Church where she volunteered for Sunday school. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed puzzles and embroidery.

Shirley is survived by children Richard of Saline, Deborah of South Carolina, Tammera of West Virginia, Cordell and his wife Tammie Lynn, of South Carolina, and Terence of Bay City; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death her loving husband of over 60 years, Richard Forshee, sons Rodrick Forshee and Douglas Forshee, and sisters Lucille and Clara.

A graveside service and committal for Shirley will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Indianfields Township, Rev. Marc Herron presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caro First Baptist Church, 1535 W Gilford Rd, Caro, MI, or Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Rd, Greenville, SC 29617.
