Shirley Sophia Hartlieb, 80, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Caseville, passed away July 16, 2014 in Bradenton, Florida.
She was born November 12, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Florence (Hibbert) Pappas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, Gail Hartlieb and Kimberly Hayward; sister, Sophia Koustas; brother, Carl Pappas; brother-in-law, George Koustas; and son-in-law, Daniel Hayward.
In Michigan, Shirley was a bookbinder journeywoman for a publishing company. She came from Warren, Michigan in 1980 to Manatee County, Florida, where she was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was a worship assistant at her churches in both Michigan and Florida. She was a member of the Caseville, Michigan Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed painting, boating and fishing.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Gunther Hartlieb; nieces, Nina Pappas, her husband, Scott and their son, Kristofer Wellman; Lisa Pappas and her husband Michael; nephew, Airs Koustas; and sister-in-law, Judy McNamara.
A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Cross Lutheran Church, Pigeon, with Rev. Timothy Loehrke, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Van Hoosen Jones Stoney Creek Cemetery in Rochester Hills.
Services were also conducted on Friday, July 18, 2014 in Florida.
