Shirley Killinger

Shirley Killinger, age 71 years, of East Caro Road, Caro, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at her home. She was born on January 17, 1936 in Caro, to the late George and Ada (Vrooman) Wood. The former Shirley Wood married John H. Killinger on April 12, 1952 in Fairgrove. She had been employed at the Caro Regional Center. Shirley was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge #940 and the Caro Eagles. Surviving besides her husband, John, are two daughters and two sons, Laurene (David) Dicks of Caro, David (Lori) Killinger of Gagetown, Cindy Warren of Caro, Richard (Kathy) Killinger of Decatur; eighteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Jessie Mulholland of Caro; and one brother, Don (Janet) Wood of Lapeer. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Pinkoski; a grandson, Jason Dicks; two sisters, Dorothy Pollak and Laurene Wood; and one brother, George Wood. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Women of the Moose service Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. and also an Eagles service the same night. Memorials may be made to the Killinger family discretionary fund.
