Shirley Marie Serazio

Shirley M. Serazio, age 66, of Caseville, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on April 5, 2008 while under hospice care.

Shirley Marie was born September 14, 1941 in Hamtramck to the late John and Mary (Wroblewski) Plansek. She married Peter D. Serazio of Detroit on February 8, 1964 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Detroit.

Together they moved to East Detroit to begin their family and later to Romeo. Having vacationed in Caseville for many years, they retired there permanently in 1994. She loved spending time at her home with her family, friends, and dogs Stevie and Chewy. She also enjoyed fishing, rainbows, sunsets, and was devoted to her hometown sports teams, especially the Red Wings.

She is survived by her husband Peter; daughters Darlene (Jacob) Steenholdt of Saint Clair Shores and Terri (Eric) Jaroch of Houghton Lake; grandson Makael Grant Steenholdt and granddaughter Sarah Jean Jaroch; sister Patricia (John) Czajkowski of Lewiston; mother-in-law Giovanna Serazio of Caseville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 9th at St. Roch Catholic Church, Caseville.

Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10AM Wednesday at church until the time of the mass. There will be a rosary at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice.
