Shirley Ann Sprague

Shirley Ann Sprague, 87, of Bay Port, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at United Hospice Service in Marlette.

Shirley was born April 21, 1936 in Wheatland Twp. to the late Frederick and Earnestine (Ohotske) Pallas.  She attended Cass City High School.  On November 21, 1953 she married Robert J. Sprague at the Bay Port Methodist Parsonage; he preceded her in death May 14, 2022.

Shirley was a member of the Bay Port United Methodist Church and Women in Faith.  She previously worked at the Bobanna Motel in Bay Port, the Bella Vista in Caseville, Automotive Industries in Owendale and sold Avon for 38 years.  She loved playing cards, mini-golf, her cats Oreo and Peanut and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by children LuAnn Brown of Caro, Sherry (Phil Sr.) Leipprandt of Sand Point and Kellie Sprague of Caseville; grandchildren Rebecca Brown, Aaron Brown, Dr. Philip (Tabatha) Leipprandt Jr., Christopher (Kimberly) Leipprandt, Cody (Samantha) Leipprandt, and Jandi (Brandon) Nickerson-Prich; great-grandchildren Bryce, Eli, and Reid Leipprandt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all eight of her siblings: Frederick Jr, Helen Sprague, Florence Darr, Raymond Pallas, Dorothy Puterbaugh, Herbert Pallas, Betty Decker, and Kenneth Pallas.

A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, July 15 at the Bay Port United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather Nowak officiating.  Interment will be in New Bay Port Cemetery.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
