Shirley Kish Walker

Shirley (Arft) Kish Walker of Caro, age 80, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born February 17, 1941 in Caro, the daughter of the late Henry and Georgia (Britton) Arft and was a lifelong Caro resident. She was united in marriage with Franklin Kish on August 16, 1957 at the Evangelical Church in Caro, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1991. She married Robert Walker on July 24, 1999 at the Caro First Baptist Church, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2014. Shirley was a member of the Caro First Baptist Church and an AWANA leader. She retired from the Tuscola County Medical Care Community on October 16, 1998 after twenty-five years of employment. Shirley is survived by her children and their spouses, Debbie & Greg Maurer of Ubly, Tammy Walsh of Saginaw, Sherry Kish of Caro, Greg & Melissa Kish of Holly; Bob's children and their spouses, Kenneth & Peggy Walker of Indiana, Dan & Tina Walker of North Branch, Tony & Debbie Walker of Lapeer, Renee & Mike Stampfer of Almont; one sister, Karen Phillips and husband, Bob, of Fairgrove; several grand- and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Shirley was preceded in death by one son, Franklin Kish, Jr.; one sister, Patricia Hart; and one granddaughter, Amy Monreal. Funeral services will be held at the Caro First Baptist Church on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marc Herron officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Unionville Fire Department walk-through Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
