Shirley Ann Williamson, age 71, of Caro, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at her home. She was born on December 29, 1937 in Kingston Township to the late William and Ceneith (Plane) Barrons. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Tuscola County and a Kingston High School graduate, class of 1956. The former Shirley Mallory married Melvin Williamson in 1981. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1992. For thirty-nine years, she had been employed as a telephone operator with Moore, Continental, and Century Telephone Companies. She was a member of the Women of the Moose. Shirley enjoyed traveling while Mel was still alive and bowling. She is survived by her children, Tamara (Bob) Formaz of Caro and Randy Mallory of Caro; one step-daughter, Diana Sue Williamson of Caro; three grandchildren, Richie Brown and Tinia Bauer of Mayville, Nicholas Mallory of Caro and Jillian Mallory of Caro; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Tyler Brown; her siblings, Jackie (Jerry) Roeske of Kingston, Susie Collins of Kingston and Sharron (Dave) Isham of Vassar; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, LaVerne, Jim, Bill and Jerry Barrons. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Chris Taylor facilitating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Tuscola County Fraternal Order of Police or the Caro Fire Department.
