Shirley Marie Wurst

Shirley M. Wurst, 87, of Pigeon, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at Scheurer Health in Pigeon.

Shirley was born September 10, 1935 in Sebewaing to the late Andrew and Mary (Meissner) Mischung. She graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1953. She worked with her husband in their tiling business, J.O. Wurst Co. Shirley enjoyed boating and fishing, but her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her husband James; children Michelle (Steve) Louwers of Caseville and Melissa (Dirk) DeBoer of Midland; step-daughter Laurie (Ray) Walker of Caseville; step-daughter-in-law Rosemary Wurst of Wisconsin; grandchildren Chase Louwers, Christopher Rahn Louwers, Dalton DeBoer, Delaney DeBoer, Amanda Graber, and Emily Koeller; great-granddaughter Betty and Iris Graber. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean Wissner, and step-son Jeff Wurst.

A memorial service will be 3:00pm, Wednesday, October 19th at the Champagne Funeral Chapel with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Wednesday and continue until the time of the service. Interment will be Caseville Twp Cemetery.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Country Bay, Country Gardens, Seasons Change Home Health Care and Hospice, and Scheurer Health for the compassionate care they showed to Shirley during her stay and a special thank you to Malissa Wisenbaugh for her love, guidance and support.
