Simona Rogers

Simona Rogers of Caro, age 63, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at her home. She was born July 27, 1961 in Traverse City to the late Severo, Sr. and Trinidad (De Leon) Vasquez. She graduated from Caro High School.

Simona spent her working years serving the local community as a cleaning professional and waitress. She was the “behind-the-scenes” magic that made so many people’s lives better with extraordinary service she provided. Outside of work, her soul came alive in the kitchen and in the company of her children, where love was served with every batch of her famous enchiladas.

Simona was full of life and always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. The neighborhood kids always found a seat at her table, where they were welcomed and loved as if they were her own. She never judged and welcomed all with her warm heart. Her memory will echo in the twang of country music and linger in every shade of purple, two things that never failed to bring her joy.

Simona leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Christopher Vasquez and Stephanie Morrison; grandson, Chad Morrison; sisters, Sylvia, Guadalupe, Maria, and Leticia; and brothers, Severo, Jr., José, Gregorio, Jesse, and Rosendo. In addition to her parents, Simona is preceded in death by three sisters, Timotea, Aurora, and Matilda.

In keeping with Simona’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
