Stanley Robert "Bob" Moody

Stanley Robert "Bob" Moody of Caro, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 12, 2020. Bob was born June 21, 1943 in Flint, the son of the late Stanley & Clara (Markel) Moody. He was raised in the Flint Area and attended Lake Fenton High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy at seventeen. While in the service, Bob was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and was in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs invasion. Following his honorable discharge, he was united in marriage with the former Marie L. Clark on March 27, 1965 in Flint, and she survives. His working career began with General Motors at a truck plant in Flint before joining his brother-in-law's auction business. Discovering he had a knack for selling, he began his own auction house in Chesaning, a business he enjoyed running with his family. Bob and Marie later moved to the Unionville-Sebewaing area and he began work in asbestos removal. He ended his career where he started, in automotive assembly, first in Snover and finally at Rochester Gear in Clifford, retiring in 2013. Bob will be remembered as a caring man with a strong moral compass. He was honest, sometimes to a fault, and generous. He was a sports enthusiast with a great love for NASCAR, University of Michigan football, the Detroit Lions and Tigers, and he remained a faithful fan even when it wasn't easy. He was also a student of history and politics and could often be found reading. Bob also enjoyed feeding wildlife in his yard, especially the birds and squirrels, gardening, and caring for his rose bushes. Left to cherish his memory along with his wife, Marie, are three children and their spouses, Annette & Hank Debeaussaert, Craig & Kathy Moody, Jennifer & Sean McGuire; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Ned & Louise Nuttle; two sisters, Joyce Siler, Rosemary & Robert Glazier; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick Nuttle; and his beloved dog, Macy. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place.
