Stephanie "Jazzy" Nelson

Stephanie “Jazzy” Nelson of Caro, age 35, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 at her home. Stephanie was born August 24, 1988 in Saginaw, the daughter of Mark and Joan (Rohde) Nelson. Stephanie was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose heart overflowed with love and compassion. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she’d give anyone the shirt off her back, unless it was her favorite name brand of course. Her nurturing nature extended into her role as a devoted dog-mom, raising several pitbulls over the years; Rocko, Raven, Gypsy, Ghost, Boss (Bossman), Nipsey, and Blanca to name a few. She harbored dreams of someday establishing her own business, “Jazzy’s Kennel”. Stephanie’s absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, and her beautiful spirit and loving presence will be dearly missed for years to come.

Left to cherish her memory are three beautiful children, Sacoya (Mija), Kamden (Malachi), and Chyna (Bookie); grandson, Kyree Hoeppner; mother, Joan Nelson; father, Mark Nelson; sisters, Sarah Rohde and Samantha Nelson; grandmother, Fay Nelson; nephew, Spencer Mitchell; nieces, Naomi (Shanaenae) Parish and Baylee Stockford; and great-nephew, Jaxon Thayer. Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elwood & Erma Rohde; grandfather, Don Nelson; aunt, Sharon Rohde; and family friends, Sherry Jackson and Chynna Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Fr. Andrew LaFramboise officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Saginaw. Stephanie’s family will be present to receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00.
