Stephen Stricker

Stephen L. Stricker, age 65, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. Stephen was born August 9, 1946 in Saginaw, the son of the late Anthony & Carmen (Diaz) Stricker. He was employed for thirty years as a Machine Operator Specialist and Inspector for General Motors, retiring in 1998. Stephen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro, Past President of the Caro Eagles, and a Past District Chairman for the Eagles. He cherished his grandchildren and loved spending time with them, as well as fishing, hunting, and playing cards. His generosity, love and compassion for others was never ending. Stephen is survived by four children and their spouses, Sharon Homak & Gordon Clayton of Gladwin, Stephen L. & Lisa Stricker of Breckenridge, Troy J. Stricker of Caro, Tanya & Eric Stowell of Caro; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, three sisters and their spouses, Theresa & Don Pawlowski of Frankenmuth, Tony & Alice Stricker of Birch Run, Joe & Carol Stricker of Indiantown, Cecelia & Will Jones of Munger, James & Dora Stricker of Birch Run, Robert & Janie Stricker of Reese, Susan Torrez of Birch Run, Timothy Stricker of Reese; six step-brothers, two step-sisters and their spouses, Tony & Betty Zarazua of Reese, Justo Zarazua of Bay City, Pete & Deb Zarazua of Bay City, Raymond Zarazua of Cindey, Ohio, Jimmy Zarazua of Bay City, Daniel Zarazua & Sue Way of Illinois, Sandra “Duddy” & Eric Sochank of Grand Rapids, Lupe Tarkowski of Reese; a daughter-in-law, Lori Stricker of Davison; his best friend and companion, Linda Bossert of Caro; and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by one son, Tracy Andrew Stricker in 1998 and Tracys granddaughter, Ayllanna Willey in 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro with Fr. Frank Voris from St. Joseph parish in Saginaw officiating. Burial will follow at the Juniata Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A rosary service will also take place at 7:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
