Steve Fogarsi

Steve Fogarsi, age 71 years, of Caro passed away on Friday, May 16, 2008 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. He was born on November 28, 1936 in Detroit to the late Stephen and Della May (Robinson) Fogarsi. His family came to Akron when he was a teenager and he graduated from Akron High School. Steve served in the United States Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge on 29 January 1963. He lived the remainder of his life in Tuscola County working at numerous grain elevators in Unionville, Gera, and retired from Gilford. On June 27, 1992 he was united in marriage with Muriel Elting in Vassar. He was involved with all of his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Muriel; seven children, Darcy (Keith) Becker of Sultan, Washington, Davin Fogarsi of Holly, Dee Ann (Rob) Summersett of Caro, Daphne (Brandon) Barry of Muskegon, Deana (William) McMullen of Vassar, Archie Hackney of Caro, Richard (Melinda) Hackney of Clio; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, his mother last week; and two brothers, Homer and Edward Fogarsi. A memorial service will be held at the Fairgrove V.F.W. Post on Darbee Road, Fairgrove on Saturday May 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Fader officiating. Burial will be in Demorest Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home or the V.F.W. Post. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairgrove V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary or the Tuscola County Relay for Life.
