Sue A. Klimkowski of Unionville, age 66, gained her wings on July 9, 2017 with her family by her side, following a three-year battle with cancer. Sue was born July 2, 1951 in Pigeon, one of eleven children born to the late Emerson "Spike" & Betty J. (Farrell) Ballard. On May 2, 1970, she was united in marriage with her love, Robert Klimkowski. Due to family history, she participated in Relay for Life and Autism Speaks. Sue was also an avid gardener who loved being outside, tending to her flowers and enjoyed finding new plants to add to her vast collection. She was also a very devoted wife, mother and matriarch to her family. Sue is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Robert Klimkowski of Unionville; one son, Chris Klimkowski of Unionville; three daughters, Teresa Klimkowski (Mike Will) of Bad Axe, twins, Kathy and Kelly Klimkowski of Milton, Florida; special granddaughter, Mariah Will of Bad Axe; three brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Gary & Connie Ballard, Brad & Donna Ballard, Betty Sy, all of Sebewaing, Diane Schember and Thomas Ballard, both of Pigeon; special sister-in-law, Tommie Jean Ballard of Milton, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Joseph Ballard; three sisters, Mary Patricia Ballard, Peggy Lou Ballard-Rinnert, and Kay Ballard; mother-in-law, Clara Story; great-niece, April Menominee; and two great-nephews, Chad and Scott Davis. In keeping with Sue's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation or Autism Speaks.
