Susan Landenberg age 51 of Bad Axe went home to be with her Savior, Sunday morning, July 20, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw.
She was born October 23, 1956 to Peter and Suzie (Shira) Champagne in Bad Axe.
Susan grew up in Bad Axe and was a 1974 graduate of Bad Axe High School. Shortly after, she attended North Central Bible Collage in Minneapolis, MN. and eventually became the food service manager for the collage through Marriot Food Service. She was employed with them for over 10 years before being forced to retire for health reasons.
On December 22, 1979, she was united in marriage to Ronald J. Landenberg at the First Baptist Church of Bad Axe. They lived in Minnesota until she retired returning to Bad Axe in 1993. She and Ron founded New Life Ministries Church of Filion in1994 where she served as associate pastor, as will as being treasurer, trustee and counselor. She also did some special counseling when call upon by local law enforcement.
Susan enjoyed collecting jewelry and antiques, and loved to fish, always for some reason getting the biggest catch. But her biggest joy came from helping others.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ron; two daughters, Heather and Jennifer; a granddaughter, Brittany; her parents, Pete and Susie Champagne; sister, Nancy (Don) Bouck and brother, John (Cindy) Champagne all of Bad Axe; a multitude nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Also by her ever loving chocolate lab, Annie Bea Kiss and many caring friends. She will be greatly missed all she loved and those who lived her.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 Thursday, July 24, at Faith Gospel Tabernacle, Bad Axe. Rev. James Willet former pastor will officiate with burial in Colfax Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Wednesday and at the church after 10 AM Thursday.
Memorials may be given to the New Life Ministry Church.
