Susan Kay O'Kelly of Caro, age 72, was born into eternal life on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family and following a courageous four-year battle with cancer and leukemia. Sue was born March 24, 1950, in Caro, the daughter of the late Joseph and Tillie (Debolski) O'Kelly. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1969 and went on to work at the Caro Center as a Resident Care Aide. After thirty dedicated years, Sue retired and went on to work as a para-pro at Highland Pines in Caro. She was a parishioner of St. Christopher Parish (Sacred Heart Church) and a member of the Card Club. Sue loved to play cards, she was up for a game at any time, especially with family. She absolutely adored her family and always made sure they were taken care of - Sue was the glue that held everyone together. Her nieces and nephews always viewed her as a second mom, and she continually made sure each one of them felt special in their own way. Sue loved the holidays, taking trips to the casino, and traveling to visit family across the U.S. She had a heart of gold and her kind, loving, and nurturing ways will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Sue leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Mary Ann Mann, Jeanette Sherman, William (Gayle) OKelly, Joseph O'Kelly, Patrick (Joyce) O'Kelly, Lorraine Hampel, John (Sue) O'Kelly, Daniel (Janet) O'Kelly, and Patricia (Dale) Churchill; sisters-in-law, Ann O'Kelly and Cheri O'Kelly; and many beloved nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald O'Kelly and Robert O'Kelly; sister-in-law, Renee' O'Kelly; brothers-in-law, Max Sherman, Preston Mann, and Dave Hampel; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating. Sue's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro and again on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Patricia Churchill, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, Michigan 48723 or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
